LAWPRO are seeking expressions of interest for Temporary Graduate posts to support the Farming for Water EIP Project. The €60 million Farming for Water EIP project aims to improve water quality while supporting climate change mitigation and biodiversity protection. Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience, work alongside experienced agricultural advisors and scientists and contribute to a high-impact, exciting initiative.
The Role and Duties: The Temporary Graduate role will report to a Farming for Water EIP Assistant Scientist (or other designated staff member) and will be part of the Farming for Water EIP Project team to deliver the objectives of this European Innovative Partnership (EIP) Project.
The duties will include:
• Supporting the wider Farming for Water EIP Team.
• Supporting ASSAP advisors, Community Animators and other advisors who are submitting applications for funding.
• Supporting catchment scale engagement and public meetings with farmers and the wider community.
• Contributing to the development of guidance documents and training material.
• Reviewing applications and approving measures to be implemented.
• Cross checking with external systems to ensure there are no double payments for measures.
• Carrying out quality control checks and providing feedback to advisors.
• Following up and validating measures to enable payments.
• Carrying out periodic checks to ensure measures are in place and advising farmers on use of system to be developed to facilitate reporting on measures.
• Supporting the Farming for Water EIP Research Hub as required.
• Working collaboratively with other stakeholders and seeking opportunities for joint actions.
• Liaising with the wider LAWPRO team.
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Project specific training will be provided and a mentor will be assigned to each post. Successful candidates may be eligible to apply for future opportunities within the Farming for Water EIP team and the wider LAWPRO team.
